about

The title is a Vanilla Sky reference; a tongue-in-cheek comment made by the protagonist. At this point in the album, I wanted something that would lift the mood (and the tempo) back up to an almost confusing degree after such a downward slope of emotion. The result was an instrumental that ended up sounding like something from my Mega Man cover album (as Kid Overdrive). The title fit perfectly for Diamond Days' ongoing story in that through crushing hardships, we often don the facade. The happy grin deceived by the tortured look in our eyes. The sad clown.
